Today, marks the 240th birthday of my beloved United States Marine Corps!
Happy Birthday to my fellow Marine Corps Brothers & Sisters!
Today, this former Marine is honored and humbled to also announce that he is officially a candidate for the GOP nomination for the Lake County Board District 5 seat.

I have zero intention of giving up my career as your local attorney and feel I can balance the call of civic service with that of my clients. In fact serving others is exactly why I am running for this post. I am simply not done serving my neighbors, my town, and my community.
As my campaign announcement letter should wholly imply, I am not the establishment high tax and spend favored candidate in this race and I wear that with a badge of honor. Lake County Illinois is a wonderful place to live, work, and be educated, but it is also the highest taxed county in the entire Midwest! I stand for all of us hard working folks who are happiest when government takes the least from us and leaves us alone the most. I have no tolerance for crony nepotism and refuse to fund patronage jobs with your tax dollars. My love for Illinois boating and commitment to the preservation of the Chain O’Lakes is nothing new.
We need a strong, fair, and honest voice representing Fox Lake, Volo, and the surrounding areas in Waukegan. As an elected member of the Gavin District 37 School Board for the past five (5) years, we were able to add all-day Kindergarden, retire an aging bus fleet, and even give our hard working teachers reasonable raises all without ever trying to increase taxes through referendum. As a small business owner here in Fox Lake, I know the struggles we all face. I pay taxes just like you, had nothing handed to me, and I am far from a rich lawyer (heck, I still have student loans to pay each month). I am no newcomer to District 5, having lived, served, and worked here for over a decade. I share our values and treasure our unique way of life. I did not change my party to run for office and I did not just move here and suddenly wish to pad an already partial county retirement with more hard earned tax money. In fact, I do not believe that any politician should ever receive a pension, nor should one be offered. There was once something noble about elected service, and I seek to restore your faith in your local government.
Shortly, the campaign will unveil www.ZippToCounty.com which will be the campaigns on-line headquarters. I am excited about this new challenge, and if you live in District 5 of Lake County, Illinois, I hope to meet you, discuss the issues with you, and most importantly hear your thoughts.
